  2. Desks and benches, green boards (easier on the eyes than white boards) and classroom dividers for 17 schools.  The schools supported in this manner are:  #’s 10, 11, 12 ,25, 26, 28,  29, 30, 31, 32, 42, and 50!

  3. School books and uniforms for 17 schools  “Over the years you have also supplied countless amounts of notebooks , pencils, pens, erasers, rulers and school uniforms.”  John

  4. Scholarships:  when Gilly and Sandra  were in Myanmar in 2010, visiting the first school that URBK built, Gilly received the news that her older brother, Ifor Thomas, had died suddenly in an accident.  The first scholarship was funded by Gilly and her parents in Ifor’s name and has continued to this day. See Hlan Nay Win and Hnaug Ei Phyo .

Scholarships are twofold:  high school and university students.

One of our scholarship recipients: Hylan Nay Win who will graduate from Shwe Bo university next September.

High school – it costs more for the family to send a child to high school because they are larger schools often in central locations.  Many rural students must board in town to go to school.  Both high school and university have 2 semesters of 4 months each.

University students go to study for 4 month blocks.  They can work between to help defray their costs, which also include room and board.

The past two trips to Myanmar have been dedicated to the installation of 3 computer labs at the following village schools:  Daw Hut Taw (2016),  Hti Hlaing and Ye Twin Kaung(2018).  These are affectionately known as “computer in a box” and utilize Raspberry Pi’s with a motherboard.  This gives students broader access to information as well as computer skills.

U R Building Knowledge is run entirely by volunteers who give their time, effort, travel, and accommodation costs as their contribution. We guarantee that all the money raised goes to the children in Myanmar and 1 school in Thailand.
