Our Constitution Says:
The purpose of URBK is to fund education and health care in impoverished areas mainly in Myanmar but not limited to this country. (We have contributed to 5 schools in Myanmar and one in Thailand and 1 clinic in Myanmar)
We are to raise funds and allocate them to local personnel who have demonstrated success in achieving the mandate. (John and Maung Maung Gyi have now built 56 schools in 10 years).
Utilize local personnel to build and staff facilities (schools and clinics). (Maung Maung Gyi runs the building crew and engages the villagers to assist where they can.)
Utilize local supplies. (The villages contribute supplies where they can and others are purchased locally for the projects.)
Provide safe structures that comply with building codes. Our schools are known as the “safest schools in Myanmar”. The team has been introduced to using confined masonry construction techniques which are used worldwide to provide seismic resistance to unreinforced masonry buildings.
Work in conjunction with the Ministry of Education/Health. (When a school is built according to Ministry requirements, they subsequently provide teachers and administration to the schools.)
